Why Women Kill grew popular following its release in August 2019 followed by a season 2 in June 2022. With the recent exciting Season 2, viewers are left asking for Season 3. Here is all that we know so far about the next season.
Why Women Kill might sound like the title of a psychological documentary but in reality it is a comedy-drama/anthology that premiered on CBS All Access for Season 1 and Paramount+ for Season 2, making its way to Voot Select and Amazon Prime.
It tells the stories of different women in different eras – from the 60s to 2019, and the murders that they commit. The women have nothing in common, except infidelity-laden marriages.
The show follows an anthology format, telling the lives of different women and the people around them. Unless Season 2 ends in a cliffhanger, i.e. without wrapping up the story, the recurrence of any character or cast is unlikely and there might be fresh faces again.
As for the release date, it’s tough to predict anything. Unless Paramount releases viewership statistics, it can’t be said if the show will be renewed or cancelled, let alone a release date.
Although unlikely, given the pace of Season 2, we might get to see the Alma-Rita arc if the story doesn’t end in Season 2. If it does, it’s going to be yet another woman killing yet another bunch of people. Apart from that, given the Season 2 finale is yet to be released, saying anything about the subsequent plot will be a shot in the dark.
Bagging an impressive IMDb rating of 8.4, Why Women Kill is a promising franchise that just doesn’t get old. A women-centric show, when done right without being politically accurate all the time, is always welcomed with open hands. For now, we can hope it gets renewed.
