“To Catch a Predator” Host Chris Hansen Fails to Appear in Court, Arrest Warrant Issued

Former host of NBC’s “To Catch a Predator”, Chris Hansen failed to appear in a Michigan courtroom in Shiawassee County. He was to show up in the courtroom on Thursday for presenting evidence related to a local sex trafficking case. Since he did not appear in the Michigan courtroom, they issued an arrest warrant against Chris Hansen. Shiawassee County Prosecuting Attorney, Scott Koerner, confirmed a bench warrant for Hansen.

Reason Behind the Arrest Warrant

Chris Hansen was supposed to present evidence related to a local sex trafficking case in a Michigan courtroom on Thursday. However, he did not show up and the authorities issued an arrest warrant for him. Scott Koerner said that Hansen did not respond to a subpoena Thursday. Chris Hansen was involved in a Shiawassee County sting operation that took place in October. He was going to present the sting operation’s evidence on Thursday.

Hansen was a Part of a Sting Operation

It was October 2020 when the sting operation took place. However, three men that were supposed to meet underage girls in a hotel in Owosso, Michigan. With Hansen’s assistance, the authorities were able to conduct the sting operation. Hansen had recorded a few segments of the sting operation. As a result, he had to present them in the courtroom on Thursday. Unfortunately, he failed to do that and an arrest warrant was out for him.

Miscommunication, the Reason Behind his Absence

Later, in an Instagram video, Chris Hansen claimed that his absence was due to some miscommunication. However, they have resolved the issue. Chris Hansen will soon hand over the videotape to the authorities.
