The Sandman is all set to make its debut on Netflix very soon, with its production in the process. It wasn’t until 2019 when Netflix picked up Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman” and decided to make it a series. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming show.
Neil Gaiman confirmed in an interview that The Sandman might come to Netflix in June 2022. However, just like other shows, The Sandman’s production is also delayed. Keeping that in mind, we are hoping to see the show sometime later in 2022.
Initially, the shooting was scheduled to begin in May 2020. But guess what, the pandemic delayed it. Well, that’s not anything new anymore, it’s happening to almost each and every series. Eventually, the shooting began in October 2020 with all the COVID-19 protocols. It wasn’t until July 2022, when the show’s producer and location manager said that they have wrapped up the production.
Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman” is one of the few comic books that managed to attain the title of New York Times bestseller. The story revolves around Dream, one of the 7 Endless. However, these Endless are billions of years old and represent a personification of a natural force. Also known as Morpheus, Dream has entitled several names over billions of years and personifies dreams. When the story begins, Morpheus is prisoned for over 70 years. Morpheus takes revenge on his abductors and returns to his realm.
